About Dear Mrs D
I began online dating in 2001. Yes, I admit, before it was cool. I loved to date but I wasn’t meeting the right guy in bars or through friends. I was working as a casting director at the time and I was seeing many missed opportunities for actors. Many didn’t know how to get their foot in the door and even more blew their chance in the room due to something unrelated to their talent or experience once they got in. I wanted to help people live up to their full potential, so I started teaching classes in auditioning and marketing techniques.
The strategy was simple – I taught people how to think of themselves as a product that they were selling. The more objective an actor could be about who he was, the better he could sell himself in his portfolio and the greater his chances of getting seen for an appropriate role. Then, the more comfortable and confident he could be in an audition, the less likely he would be to let nerves or insecurity get in the way of a great performance.
My personal and professional philosophies began to overlap. I wasn’t getting the responses I expected from my profile, so I picked pictures that better represented the “product me”, and my luck turned. Once I was honest with myself on who I was, I also gained clarity on who I was really looking for and how to find him. These strategies lead me to meet my dream guy - I married him in 2007.
Dear Mrs D was born when my family, friends, and friends of friends saw my success and started to ask me how to get results too. Since that time I have 4 engagements, 3 marriages, 2 babies, and hundreds of online dates to my credit. I would like to get you there too!
